Bret Duston leads our Southwest Region of Commercial & Industrial Lending, bringing 34 years of expertise in executive management, strategic planning, and SBA lending. In 2022, Bret was honored with the Brian Vogt Community Leader Award from the South Metro Denver Chamber, recognizing his contributions and leadership.
Bret’s business philosophy centers around four principles: always listen, nurture long-term relationships, act with honesty and integrity, and continuously give back by mentoring others.
Bret has a strong track record of volunteer work. For over six years, he has been involved with The Women’s Bean Project, serving as a board member and as Board Chair from 2020 to 2022, and continues to teach financial literacy for the organization. Currently, he serves as the 2024/25 Board Chair of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, where he’s been a dedicated executive committee and board member since 2019. He has also volunteered with the St. Vrain Chapter of Trout Unlimited, where he was a board member.
Outside of his professional life, Bret enjoys life in Colorado with his wife, their 23-year-old son, and 20-year-old daughter. He is an avid chef and has dreams of becoming a jalapeño rancher.
