David Warner

With over 43 years of experience in banking and finance, David is a seasoned commercial banker specializing in originating commercial and commercial real estate loans, as well as developing depository relationships. His expertise includes financing for accounts receivable, equipment, inventory, and both owner and non-owner-occupied real estate. David’s commitment to his clients is rooted in his extensive experience, professionalism, and dedication to helping commercial clients meet their business objectives with tailored financial solutions.

Before joining Academy Bank in August 2022, David held roles across various banking, finance, and regulatory agencies, including the FDIC, and has cultivated a deep expertise in affordable housing finance since 1994. Actively involved in his community, he has served on the boards of Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity of Colorado, where he is currently Board President. David’s leadership supports 23 affiliates across Colorado in their mission to help low- and moderate-income families realize homeownership.

David holds a Colorado Independent Broker Real Estate license and has completed the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado University in Boulder. Outside of work, he spends weekends in the mountains, fishing and hunting. He and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for 37 years and have two sons. David is eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first grandchild.
